"SMART HDD" uses the SMART technology that provides analysis and diagnostics of hard disk drives to decrease the risk of losing information on your computer. It determines performance of a hard disk drive and defragments file systems. "SMART HDD" has capabilities to tune a hard disk drive by controlling its performance, acoustic noise and temperature.

The basic principle of "SMART HDD" is minimal possible usage of computer resources since any program which implements monitoring must always reside in memory of a computer thus decreasing the amount of free memory available to other applications and also uses CPU resources for analysis. In addition, the small size of the program equal to merely 48K provides a quick start and minimizes installation time via Internet. "SMART HDD" is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 operating systems.
