Enhanced IDE (EIDE)

EIDE (Enhanced IDE) abbreviation was being actively used by "Western Digital" in 1993-1994 for the promotion of the hard disk drives compatible with ATA-2, which supported a new high-speed PIO-4 data transfer mode. This abbreviation results from the marketing policy of producers and sellers directed to increase the variety of ATA/ATAPI compatible devices or slang of the sellers who don't know what they sell or what they say.
