Ultra ATA 33-133 (Ultra DMA 33-133) Protocols
In 1999 this terms, as well as alternative names - IDE, EIDE, FastATA, were actively used for sales promotion and assortment extension of the selling hard disk drives supporting Ultra DMA-2 data transfer mode of ATA/ATAPI-4 standard. This abbreviation results from the marketing policy of producers and sellers directed to increase the variety of ATA/ATAPI compatible devices or a slang of the sellers who don't know what they sell or what they talk about.
