HDD Operation Life Determination

Practically in each hard disk drive, there is a timer that increases its value by one unit for the period defined by the manufacturer, thus enabling the determination of the number of the hours fulfilled by an HDD since the moment of its manufacture. However, the period of different manufacturers differs. For example: "Seagate " - one time an hour, "Maxtor " - one time a minute, "Samsung " - one time every 30 seconds, "Fujitsu " - 3600 times an hour, etc. These values vary, and sometimes rather considerably, even for the same model of the same manufacturer. Thus, the instant definition of the number of hours fulfilled by a hard drive is of course not possible. SMARTHDD analyzes the value of the timer within 1 hour and calculates the number of the hours fulfilled by the storage device basing on its frequency.
